Our Company
MacroMotion Fluid Power, a trademark of MacroMotion Hydraulics Inc., is a full service fluid power company that has been serving the needs of industrial producers and end consumers in the Golden Horseshoe and Greater Toronto area since 1986. We began operations as a cylinder repair shop that serviced the Hamilton steel mills and throughout the early 90s transitioned into hydraulic component repair and on-site troubleshooting and maintenance. As the 90s progressed, MacroMotion continued expanding into custom design and manufacturing services which ultimately led us to becoming an authorized distributor of Parker Hydraulics in 1997, forming the basis of the company today. At present, MacroMotion operates out of the same location in Burlington, Ontario, but is separated into two distinct divisions; distribution and service. The distribution division offers quality and affordable Hydraulic and Pneumatic products and accessories, Solenoid and Process Valves, Instrumentation, and Hose, Fittings and Adapters. The service division features a full service machining and repair shop where we offer Hydraulic and Pneumatic Cylinder and Rotary Actuator repair, Pump, Motor and component repair, Accumulator repair and recharging, Booster/Intensifier repair, Swivel/Rotary Joint repair, routine fluid power maintenance, filter servicing and fluid conditioning, and 24/7 availability. The knowledge and expertise acquired during our 40+ year tenure as a hydraulic machine shop combined with our distribution division’s access to low cost, high quality products allows us to design and manufacture custom projects to suit our customers’ needs. We design and manufacture custom power units, mill cylinders and integrated safety systems that comply with ministry of labour and workplace safety directives.

MacroMotion was founded in 1986, by Bob MacLeod under the name MacLeod Hydraulic Service & Machining Ltd. in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
Company Sold and Renamed
1989
MacLeod Hydraulic Service & Machining Ltd. was sold in 1989 and renamed Quality Hydraulic Service & Machining Ltd.
Company Reacquired
1993
The 1991 recession forced Quality Hydraulic Service & Machining Ltd. into receivership. In 1993, Bob MacLeod reacquired the assets and rebranded the company back to MacLeod Hydraulic Service & Machining Ltd.
Priestners Purchase Company
1995
On April 30th, 1995 MacLeod Hydraulic Service & Machining Ltd. was sold to brothers, John and Paul Priestner.
MacroMotion & Parker Hydraulics
1997
MacLeod Hydraulic Service & Machining Ltd. was rebranded as MacroMotion Hydraulics Inc. in 1997. Shortly after rebranding, MacroMotion became an authorized distributor of Parker hydraulic products.
Boston Weatherhead
2000
MacroMotion Hydraulics Inc. became an authorized distributor of Boston Weatherhead hydraulic hose and fittings in 2000.
Numatics
2005
MacroMotion Hydraulics Inc. became an authorized distributor of Numatics pneumatic products in 2005.
ASCO
2011
MacroMotion Hydraulics Inc. became an authorized distributor of ASCO valve products in 2011.
MacroMotion Fluid Power
2012
To better reflect the diversity of our core offerings, MacroMotion Hydraulics Inc. was renamed MacroMotion Fluid Power in 2012.
Continental ContiTech
2015
Continental AG acquired and rebranded Goodyear Engineered Products as Continental ContiTech when it purchased Veyance Technologies from the Carlyle group in 2015. MacroMotion Fluid Power remains a distributor of Continental ContiTech.
Aventics
2018
Emerson acquired the Aventics line of fluid power automation products in 2018. Due to an overlap of competitive products, Emerson has been phasing out Numatics products in favour of the Aventics line of pneumatic products. MacroMotion Fluid Power became an authorized distributor of Aventics in 2018 and remains a distributor of the few remaining Numatics products.
TopWorx
2018
MacroMotion Fluid Power became an authorized distributor of TopWorx valve controllers and GO Switch proximity sensors in 2018.
Winters Instruments
2022
MacroMotion Fluid Power became an authorized distributor of Winters Instruments in 2022.
