Continental ContiTech is a leading producer of industrial rubber and plastic products. Continental AG, the parent company to ContiTech, was founded in 1871 in Hanover, Germany as a rubber producer. They began manufacturing pneumatic automobile and bicycle tires in 1898 and were jointly responsible for the creation of the treaded tire in 1904. Presently, Continental AG is the third largest automotive supplier in the world. ContiTech became a subsidiary of Continental AG in 2015 when they purchased Veyance Technologies from the Carlyle Group. Veyance Technologies was established in 2007 when the Carlyle Group purchased the Goodyear Engineered Products division from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. The Carlyle Group renamed the Goodyear Engineered Products division Veyance Technologies who continued manufacturing and marketing industrial rubber and plastic products under the Goodyear Engineered Products trade name. MacroMotion became an authorized distributor of Goodyear Engineered Products in 2012 and maintained distributorship through the 2015 ContiTech rebranding. In April of 2025, Continental AG announced it would spin off ContiTech, which they plan on selling.
